To work within the Ontario security industry, an individual is required to complete the mandatory 40 hour Basic Security Training (BST).
The online security guard training program is provided by Ontario Security License, our partnered training provider licensed under the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General.
The Ontario security guard training program is available online and can be completed in 35.5 hours.
The online training program is accessible 24/7, which allows you to complete the course on your own time and pace. You can complete your training from home, on your PC, Cell phone or Tablet.
You are also required to have a valid Emergency Level First Aid & CPR Certification to obtain your security guard license. This is a 1 day training program that you must complete in class and is not offered as an online course.
If you currently have a valid Emergency Level First Aid and CPR certificate, you do NOT require to re-certify in First Aid and CPR.
However, if you do not have a valid Emergency level First Aid and CPR certificate, you may complete the 1 day in-class training through an approved first aid training provider such as St. John Ambulance or the Canadian Red Cross for approximately $89 to $99. First Aid Training classes are hosted weekly and are available in every major city in Ontario.
Once you have registered for your Online Basic Security Training (BST), you will be contacted by our admin staff with instructions on how to begin your online security guard course.
Should you also require to purchase and complete the First Aid training component, our admin staff will follow up with you and assist you in registering for the First Aid and CPR training component in your city.
